*utilize digital sequences

I can provide you and your guests with a single musician, an eleven piece orchestra, or anything in between. Thanks to computerized digital sequencing, the big band sound of Lew Willie & the Snapdragons is more affordable than ever. A seven to eleven piece orchestra may be the perfect fit for a gala in a large venue with 150+ guests. But what if you are planning a smaller event or have a more limited budget? I have transcribed my bass and piano arrangements onto computerized sequences. This means that I can now offer a 4 or 5 piece band with 1 or 2 horns (trumpet or sax or both), female vocalist, myself on guitar and vocals and a live drummer.

It is not unusual for a band to play along with background tracks. Many bands buy commercially available tracks and play them through their public address systems. In a worst case scenario, the customer purchases the services of a band but gets instead little more than a karaoke act.

What is different about my approach is that none of my tracks are store bought. They are precise transcriptions of my own bass and keyboard arrangements for a live band. Also, instead of running full orchestra tracks through the vocal P.A. (which sounds fake), I send a split stereo signal to two speakers on the stage: one where the bass player would be and another where the keyboard player would be. The only sound coming through the vocal P.A. is live vocals and live horns. The result is a totally natural resonance that makes the 5 piece band sound exactly like the 7 piece band. (minus some of the spontaneity, of course!)
